Horst, based in Austria, has more than 20 years of professional experience in various areas of corporate finance. Since 2007 he has been active in the Venture Capital business and serving as a Senior Investment Manager for VC Funds. In addition he has been working with several Business Angels and a number of Startups. His specialisation is on early stage equity funding, where he was involved in more than 100 transactions including several successful exits. He shares his knowledge with new entrepreneurs via lectures and workshops on Venture Capital and early stage Startup funding and is acting as Mentor for Startups at Austrian business incubation programmes. Horst has also been working as an independent consultant since 2014.
Description: Venture Capital is the standard source of funding for startups that have reached expansion stage or beyond. Business Angels are more and more establishing VC terms too. But VC Term Sheets are a world of its own and need to be understood before you sit in front of an investor. Horst Gaisbauer has negotiated hundreds of VC Term Sheets for different startups and investors and is looking forward to sharing its knowledge. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their experiences.
The interactive workshop addresses the following topics: What is a VC Term Sheet and what is it for? Typical Term Sheet provisions? Explanation of typical VC terms? How do all the exit provisions work? How to evaluate a startup? Why looking for a huge valuation is not the only important thing? Tips & tricks to negotiate a VC Term Sheet!
